A Brisbane rock legend is honoured at Government House
Mr John Collins AM, cofounder of the Brisbane-based rock band Powderfinger, was among 17 deserving Queenslanders with Australian Honours and Awards during an Investiture Ceremony at Government House in Brisbane.
Mr Collins, or 'JC as he is well known, was honoured for significant service to the arts through music, and to the community.
Dr Laurie Margaret Cowled AM was recognised for significant service to philanthropy in the arts, education and health sectors, and to women; and Dr John Kees de Groot AM for significant service to the law, to tertiary education, and to the community.
