Bringing joy to kids who otherwise might miss out

It was a rare opportunity for the children, many of whom are undergoing treatments that prevent them from attending public events.

Professor Ian Frazer, a renowned cancer researcher and immunotherapy expert, attended along with his grandchildren and spoke of the importance of creating memorable experiences for children who would otherwise miss out.

“Getting a chance to come to somewhere like Government House, lit up as it is beautifully done tonight, really gives them something to remember… Maybe we'll see it helps them through some of the darker times.”

The Children’s Hospital Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of sick kids across Queensland, funding vital research, cutting-edge equipment, and essential support services to help children with all illnesses, injuries, and conditions.

The Government House community Christmas lights are open to the public nightly from 6.45pm - 8.15pm from December 13 -19.
