Coronation Open Day at Government House
Thousands of Queenslanders gathered at Government House on Saturday 6 May at a special Open Day celebrating the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Selfies on the 'Royal Throne' were popular, as was the scavenger hunt for the kids, who were rewarded with a limited edition Coronation Coin commemorating this special day in history.
Visitors enjoyed exploring the House and Gardens, while live music from the Brisbane Excelsior Band, Australian Army Band and the Queensland Police Pipes and Drums kept everyone entertained.
The food trucks were kept busy all day, with families making the most of the glorious Queensland weather and enjoying picnics on the perfectly manicured lawns.
The highlight of the day was without doubt the thrill and roar of the RAAF Super Hornet Flyover followed by the proclamation of the Town Crier.
God Save The King!
A perfect warm up to the big event tonight, which can be watched live online below.
