Deputy Governor the Honourable Chief Justice Helen Bowskill Grants Royal Assent
With Her Excellency on official travel to the Maranoa region, the Honourable Chief Justice Helen Bowskill assumed duty as Deputy Governor of Queensland.
On Friday 23 August, 2024 Chief Justice Bowskill received Clerk of Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie at her Chambers, and exercising the Governor's powers under a delegation as Deputy Governor, granted Royal Assent to the following bills:
Queensland Food Farmers’ Commissioner Bill 2024
A bill for an Act to establish the office of Queensland food farmers’ commissioner and for related purposes.
Cross-Border Commissioner Bill 2024
A bill for an Act to establish the office of cross-border commissioner and for related purposes.
Night-Life Economy Commissioner Bill 2024
A bill for an Act to establish the office of night-life economy commissioner and for related purposes.
Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024
A bill for an Act to amend the Industrial Relations Act 2016, the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2017, the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 and the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Regulation 2014 for particular purposes.
