Government House Investiture Ceremonies - Livestreams
This week, Government House will host six Investiture Ceremonies, recognising more than 100 outstanding Queenslanders for their achievements and service across a wide range of fields, from community leadership and national defence to sporting excellence.
Among those to be honoured at Tuesday’s ceremonies are the Honourable Justice James Joshua Edelman AC, recognised for his eminent service to the law, and Mr Laurie Joseph Lawrence AO, acknowledged for his distinguished contribution to water safety education and elite swimming coaching.
Queenslanders who won gold medals at the Paris Olympic Games will also be celebrated: Arisa Trew OAM (skateboarding), Saya Sakakibara OAM (BMX racing), and Lani Glen Pallister OAM (swimming).
The afternoon ceremony will honour outstanding military and community service, including the awarding of the Distinguished Service Cross to Brigadier Patrick Frances McIntosh DSC AM (Retd) and the Commendation for Gallantry to the late Private Samel Solonsch.
Across all six ceremonies, recipients reflect the remarkable breadth and depth of Australian achievement — a fitting tribute in this special 50th anniversary year of the Australian Honours and Awards system, the pre-eminent way Australians recognise the achievements and service of their fellow citizens.
Each ceremony will be livestreamed via the links below, and on the Governor's Facebook page.
Ceremony A, 10am Tuesday 29 April
