Governor Attends Brisbane International Tennis Finals
As the sporting world set its sights on the Australian Open in Melbourne in early January, Her Excellency had the pleasure of attending the Brisbane International tennis tournament, including the thrilling finals held at the Pat Rafter Arena.
The atmosphere was electric, with a packed crowd including several tennis legends coming together to cheer on the world-class players competing for the prestigious titles. The women’s and men’s singles finals showcased remarkable talent, determination, and sportsmanship.
Congratulations were extended to Aryna Sabalenka and Jiří Lehečka, who triumphed in their respective matches, delivering spectacular performances that captivated all in attendance.
This year’s Brisbane International saw record-breaking attendance, further solidifying its status as a must-attend event on the tennis calendar. The tournament’s success was due in no small part to the efforts of Tennis Queensland, whose dedication to engaging with the local tennis community, coordinating volunteers, and promoting the event ensured a memorable and smooth experience for all involved.
As Queensland continues to shine as a premier sporting destination, the Brisbane International serves as a perfect example of the state’s commitment to hosting world-class events that unite and inspire the community.
The Governor's attendance at this event further highlights Queensland’s proud sporting culture, and Her Excellency looks forward to another exciting year of sport across the state.
