Governor grants Royal Assent - 8 April 2022

Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young PSM, Governor of Queensland, today received Mr Neil Laurie, Clerk of the Parliament, for the presentation of the two following Bills to which Royal Assent was granted:

Small Business Commissioner Bill 2022 – a bill to enable the establishment of a Queensland Small Business Commissioner and supporting office.

Public Health and Other Legislation (Extension of Expiring Provisions) Amendment Bill 2022 – a bill that extends current COVID-19 public health protection measures and legislation.

The granting of Royal Assent is an integral step in the legislative process.
