Governor grants Royal Assent to a Bill

Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young PSM, Governor of Queensland, today received Mr Neil Laurie, Clerk of the Parliament, for the presentation of the following Bill to which Royal Assent was granted:

Queensland Veterans’ Council Bill 2021 - A bill for an Act to establish the Queensland Veterans’ Council and to amend the Anzac Day Act 1995, the Public Sector Ethics Regulation 2010 and the Statutory Bodies Financial Arrangements Regulation 2019 for particular purposes.

The granting of Royal Assent is one of the Governor's central constitutional duties, and an integral step in the legislative process.
