Governor invested as a Companion of the Order of Australia

The award was conferred by Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, His Excellency the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), at a private Investiture Ceremony held at Admiralty House in Sydney.

It recognises her eminent service to public health administration, to medicine and medical research, to the tertiary education sector, and as the 27th Governor appointed in Queensland.

Her Excellency is one of only two Queenslanders, and eight recipients nationally.

With her to witness the occasion were her husband, Professor Graeme Nimmo, daughters, parents and other close family members.

The Governor and Professor Nimmo met privately with His Excellency and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley before returning to Queensland.
