Governor presents Australian Honours at Townsville Ceremony
Her Excellency has presented five deserving North Queenslanders with Australian Honours and Awards at a special Investiture Ceremony in Townsville.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Australian Honours and Awards system, which was established on 14 February 1975. The anniversary is a chance to reflect on the extraordinary Australians who have been celebrated in the first five decades, and, as we look forward to the next 50 years, Her Excellency encourages all Queenslanders to think about deserving individuals they could nominate in recognition of their contributions to our great State.
The recipients were as follows:
AWARDED THE CONSPICUOUS SERVICE CROSS (CSC)
Air Commodore Anthony Phillip Jones CSC (Retd)
For outstanding achievement in the Australian Defence Force as Director of the Indonesia Safety and Airworthiness Program.
AWARDED THE MEDAL OF THE ORDER OF AUSTRALIA IN THE GENERAL DIVISION (OAM)
Mr Barry William Jansen OAM
For service to cricket.
AWARDED THE CONSPICUOUS SERVICE MEDAL (CSM)
Major Cameron Steven Dunne CSM
For meritorious devotion to duty as the 5th Aviation Regiment CH-47F Chinook helicopter Qualified Flying Instructor.
Captain Natasha Pauline Kirkham CSM
For meritorious achievement in leadership and strategic engagement while serving as Troop Commander 127th Signal Troop, 1st Signal Regiment.
AWARDED THE COMMENDATION FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE
Mr Rohan Paul Conlon
For distinguished performance of duty whilst deployed on warlike operations as a Combat Engineer in Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force 2 on Operation SLIPPER on 7 July 2009 and 9 August 2009.
