Governor's first regional visit in pictures
This week, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young PSM, Governor of Queensland and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD undertook their first vice-regal regional visit.
The vice-regal couple toured Central Queensland, visiting Rockhampton, Baralaba and the Indigenous community of Woorabinda.
Her Excellency pledged at her swearing-in to be a Governor for all of Queensland, and to travel widely throughout the State, including to Indigenous communities.
Over the three days, the vice-regal couple met students from more than eight local schools, hosted community receptions, luncheons and breakfasts, visited five public hospitals and health services to meet and support frontline healthcare workers, acknowledged emergency services personnel, and supported tourism and industry initiatives, including the Rockhampton Zoo.
The Governor and Professor Nimmo also distributed copies of the latest Government House children's book, 'A Place for All Queenslanders', to students throughout the district.
