King Charles III shares his Commonwealth Day Message
Each year, His Majesty The King shares a message to mark Commonwealth Day, reflecting on the values that unite the 56 nations of the Commonwealth.
This year, His Majesty reminds us that: “In these uncertain times, where it is all too easy to believe that our differences are problems instead of a source of strength and an opportunity for learning, the Commonwealth’s remarkable collection of nations and peoples come together in the spirit of support and, crucially, friendship... The Commonwealth’s ability to bring together people from all over the world has stood the test of time and remains as ever-important today.”
Commonwealth Day is a day to reflect on our shared bonds and the strength we find in one another.
Queenslanders exemplify this spirit of support and friendship, especially in challenging times.
Over the past few days, as communities across the South-East in particular have faced the impacts of Tropical Cyclone Alfred, we have once again seen the resilience, generosity, and unity that define our state. Just weeks earlier, severe flooding in North Queensland tested the strength of many communities, with Queenslanders once again stepping up to help one another.
