Police and military personnel honoured at Government House
The Governor presided over an Investiture Ceremony at Government House honouring the distinguished service and achievements of members of the Queensland Police Service and Australian Defence Force, recognising their exceptional contributions to public safety and their fields of service.
More than 100 exceptional Queenslanders were be thanked and congratulated for their contributions, service and bravery in the King's Birthday Awards.
Among those presented across six ceremonies attended by their family, friends, colleagues and supporters were Brigadier Paul Edward Smith AM, appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in the Military Division for exceptional service as Deputy Judge Advocate General – Army; four recipients of the Conspicuous Service Cross; six recipients of the Australian Police Medal; three awardees of the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Military Division; and five recipients of the Conspicuous Service Medal.
