Queenslanders honoured in the Australia Day 2024 Honours List
Queenslanders have featured prominently in the Australia Day 2024 Honours List, with 144 people from throughout our State being recognised with Australian Honours and Awards.
This number includes two recipients of the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC), for eminent achievement and merit of the highest degree in service to Australia or humanity at large.
The awardees come from many walks of life and are recognised for many and varied contributions to Queensland and the nation. However, regardless of their field of focus or action, each of them has applied their talents and efforts to improving the lives of others.
Australia’s system of Honours and Awards provides a way to publicly recognise and celebrate their contributions.
Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland warmly congratulates the following Queenslanders named in the Australia Day 2024 Honours List:
Order of Australia – 96 recipients (one undisclosed)
