Recognising Queenslanders who make a difference
Queensland family violence researcher and academic Dr Heather Rose Nancarrow AM was recently recognised for her outstanding service to education and women's safety during an Investiture Ceremony at Government House.
Dr Nancarrow was named a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in this year's Australia Day Honours and Awards for her incredible contributions to keeping women safe and advancing education.
Dr Nancarrow's career spans decades of leadership and research in domestic and family violence prevention. She has held key roles like CEO of Australia's National Research Organisation for Women's Safety and Director of the Domestic Violence Prevention Unit in Queensland. Her dedication extends to academia, too, serving as an Adjunct Professor at Monash University.
The King’s Birthday Honours List for 2024 has since been announced.
