The Investiture Room
The 1937 extensions to Government House, instigated by the then Governor, Sir Leslie Orme Wilson, enabled the creation of a billiard room / supper room beneath the Drawing Room. The space was subsequently used as a ballroom in the 1960s, and most recently has been used primarily for investiture ceremonies, lectures, and displays as well as for functions and dinners.
The Governor also swears-in the Premier and Ministers of the State, and conducts other constitutional duties, in the Investiture Room.
