Vice-Regal couple attend Remembrance Day Ceremony

Every year at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, millions around the world pause in silence to mark the anniversary of the Armistice that ended fighting in World War I.

Her Excellency and Professor laid the first wreath at the Shrine of Remembrance, on behalf of all Queenslanders, to honour those who have served and sacrificed.

In a special ceremony at Government House, the Australian flag was be lowered to half-mast at 10:30am and remained there until 11:02am, with two minutes silence observed at 11am.

In the evening, the House was lit up in red.
