On Friday, in the morning, at Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD hosted a Community Walk in partnership with Health and Wellbeing Queensland, and the Governor addressed guests. 

In the afternoon, at Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council Chambers, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a community lunch with Mayor, Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council, Councillor Alf Lacey, Councillors and local residents, and the Governor addressed guests. 

Following, at Bwgcolman Community School, Palm Island, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited the school, and read a book to students.

Following, at Joyce Palmer Health Service, Palm Island, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff. 

Following, at Palm Island Community Company, Palm Island, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the facility and met with staff.
