On Saturday, in the morning, at Burdekin Theatre, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD attended a community morning tea with Mayor, Burdekin Shire Council, Councillor Pierina Dalle Cort and local residents, and the Governor addressed guests. 

Following, at Ayr Hospital, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff and patients. 

In the afternoon, at Home Hill Hospital, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the facility, received a briefing on operations, and met with staff and patients.
