On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD received the Ambassador of Hungary, His Excellency, Mr Zsolt Csenger-Zalán and Honorary Consul for Hungary in Brisbane, Dr Lorinc Kovacs.
Following, at Government House, Her Excellency received the Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie, for the presentation of six Bills for Assent: A Police Powers and Responsibilities and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024, A Corrective Services (Promoting Safety) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024, A Cheaper Power (Supplementary Appropriation) Bill 2024, A Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2024, A Manufactured Homes (Residential Parks) Amendment Bill 2024, A Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games Arrangements Amendment Bill 2024.
Following, at Government House, via teleconference, Her Excellency presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
In the evening, at the Queensland Art Gallery, South Brisbane, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the 2024 Queensland Greats Awards, and the Governor addressed guests.
