In the morning, at the Executive Building, George Street, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon, the Governor assumed duty as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia; and the Honourable Justice Hugh Fraser commenced duty as Acting Governor.
