In the morning, at South Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey visited Somerville House, where the Governor provided an address and unveiled a plaque, officially opening the Foundation Building.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a formal dinner in recognition of the Australian Defence Force in Queensland.  Guests included: the Honourable Justice John Byrne AO RFD and Miss Jennifer Coleman; Major-General Stephen Porter AM and Mrs Anita Porter; Air Commodore Scott Winchester and Mrs Mary-Anne Winchester; Commander Peter Tedman DSM OAM ADC RAN and Ms Lesley Dellit; Brigadier William Date; Warrant Officer Class One Andrew Roberts and Mrs Michelle Roberts; Warrant Officer Rob Ettles and Mrs Kerri Ettles; Lieutenant Commander Craig Flynn and Mrs Naomi Flynn; Mr Terry Meehan AM and Mrs Sue Meehan; Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM and Mrs Julie Gower; and Ms Julia Webb.
