On Thursday, in the morning at St Brigid's Church Red Hill, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD attended the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services 2024 Firefighters Remembrance Day Commemorative Service and laid the first wreath. 

In the afternoon at Government House, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a Reception in support of the Children's Hospital Foundation, and the Governor addressed guests.
