On Saturday, in the morning, at the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino, Cairns, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, with Mrs Kaye de Jersey, hosted an Investiture Ceremony for residents of Far North Queensland, recipients of Australian honours and awards announced on The Queen’s Birthday 2016, and then the Governor addressed guests.

Following, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey returned to Brisbane. 

 In the evening, at Suncorp Stadium, the Governor attended the Australian Rugby Union match between the Wallabies and the Springboks.
