On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC received the Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie, for the presentation of five Bills for Assent.

Following, at the Queensland Museum, South Brisbane, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey viewed the Anzac Legacy Gallery.

In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted an Investiture Ceremony for recipients of Australian honours and awards announced in the Australia Day 2019 Honours List, and the Governor addressed guests.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency presided at a special meeting of the Executive Council and issued the writ and proclamation for the election, to be held on 18 May 2019, of one half of the Senators from Queensland to serve in the Senate of Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia.
