On Monday, in the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC received Mr Walter van der Merwe, Queensland Electoral Commissioner, and Mr Dermot Tiernan, Assistant Electoral Commissioner, for the return of the Writ following the general election held on 25 November 2017.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor welcomed members of the public visiting the estate to view the 2017 Christmas Lights display.
