On Sunday, in the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Brisbane for an official visit to Cooktown, Lockhart River, Aurukun and Hope Vale.

In the afternoon, at the Sovereign Resort, Cooktown, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a lunch with, and received a briefing on local issues from, representatives of Cook Shire Council.

Following, at the James Cook Museum, Cooktown, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey met staff and toured operations, and then attended a Civic Reception hosted by Cook Shire Council where His Excellency addressed guests.
