On Sunday, in the morning, at the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the Centenary of the First World War Armistice commemorative service, and the Governor and Mrs de Jersey laid a wreath.
Following, at Villers-Bretonneux, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey toured the Sir John Monash Centre.
Following, at the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey laid a Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA) poppy at the gravesite of Queensland World War I soldier Private William Henry McRae.
Following, at Heath Cemetery, Harbonnières, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey laid QCWA poppies at the gravesites of Queensland World War I soldiers Lieutenant Cecil Arthur Auchterlonie and Private Roy Clarence Lucas.
