On Tuesday, in the afternoon, Mayor, Cairns Regional Council, Councillor Bob Manning OAM & Mrs Claire Manning; Mayor, Townsville Regional Council, Councillor Jenny Hill & Mr Shane Hill; Chairman, The Chapman Group, Mr George Chapman AO & Mrs Margo Chapman; President, Cairns Amateurs, Mr Michael Delaney & Mrs Cathy Delaney; President, Chamber of Commerce, Cairns, Mr Sam Marino & Mrs Linda Marino; President, Chamber of Commerce, Townsville, Mr Troy Popham & Mrs Diane Popham; President, North Queensland Ensembles Inc., Mr Andrew Ryder & Mrs Jennifer Ryder; and Chairman, Tourism Tropical North Queensland, Mr Max Shepherd & Mrs Sheena Shepherd, arrived at Government House as overnight guests of His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey.
In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a dinner in honour of North and Far North Queensland representatives, at which the overnight guests attended, along with Commander, 3rd Bridge, Australian Army, Brigadier Chris Field & Ms Sarah Kendall; and Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM & Mrs Julie Gower.
