On Monday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM received the Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie, for the presentation of three Bills: a Bill for An Act to amend the Auditor-General Act 2009, the Integrity Act 2009, the Magistrates Act 1991, the Ombudsman Act 2001, the Public Sector Act 2022 and the legislation mentioned in schedule 1 for particular purposes; a Bill for an Act to provide for the administration of the public sector, the employment arrangements for public sector employees, a fair and responsive public sector and particular matters relating to individuals other than public sector employees, and to amend this Act, the Ambulance Service Act 1991, the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, the Corrective Services Act 2006, the Crime and Corruption Act 2001, the Electoral Act 1992, the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990, the Legal Aid Queensland Act 1997, the Ombudsman Act 2001, the Supreme Court Library Act 1968, the TAFE Queensland Act 2013 and the Acts mentioned in schedule 3 for particular purposes, and to repeal the Public Service Act 2008; and a Bill for an Act to amend the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001, the Animal Care and Protection Regulation 2012, the Disability Services Act 2006, the Racing Integrity Act 2016, the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1936 and the Veterinary Surgeons Regulation 2016 for particular purposes.
In the afternoon, at Government House, Her Excellency welcomed the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier of Queensland, who presented her proposed appointments as Premier and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games and as Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympic and Paralympic Games Infrastructure; Her Excellency officiated at a formal ceremony for the swearing-in of the Ministers of the State and presided at a special meeting of the Executive Council.
Following, at Government House, Her Excellency received Dr Helena Franco.
In the evening, at Government House, members of the public visited to view the 2022 Government House Christmas Lights display.
