On Wednesday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD hosted a morning tea for the Queensland John Monash Scholars, and the Governor addressed guests. 

In the afternoon, at Government House, Her Excellency greeted members of the Probus Club of Varsity Lakes visiting for a guided tour of the House and gardens. 

In the evening, at Government House, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a dinner in honor of Queenslanders recognised in the 2024 Australia Day Honours List and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: Emeritus Professor Deborah Theodoros AO and Dr Michael Theodoros; Associate Professor Julie Mundy AM; Mr Douglas Porter AM and Dr Janet Porter; Brigadier Mark Armstrong CSC and Mrs Leanne Armstrong; Inspector Brett Jackson APM and Acting Inspector Marilyn Jackson; Mr Colin Neil ESM OAM and Mrs Susan Neil ESM OAM; Mr Arthur De Main OAM and Mr Lawrence Watts; Ms Catherine Mundy OAM and Mr Jay Turner OAM; Ms Jenny Woodward OAM and Mr Doug Woodward; and Ms Yolande Yorke and Dr Ingrid Tall.
