On Wednesday, in the afternoon, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Government House for Official Travel to Redland City Council. 

At Redlands RSL Sub-branch, Cleveland, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo laid a wreath to commemorate the Centenary. 

Following, at Redland City Council Office, Cleveland, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing from the Mayor and Council representatives on areas impacted by Tropic Cyclone Alfred. 

The Vice-Regal couple then visited the Local Disaster Coordination Centre, Cleveland, where they received a briefing from Disaster Management representatives and external agencies, before meeting with staff at the Bayview Conservation Area to discuss the mainland bulk disposal sites. 

Following, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited the Thornlands Community Recovery Hub at the Thornlands Dance Palais Hall, where they received a briefing and met with affected residents, businesses and volunteers, before returning to Government House.
