In the morning, at Fortitude Valley, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, attended the boutique of Dress for Success and Suited to Success, where the Governor presented a number of certificates recognising the contribution of volunteers to the organisations and addressed guests.

In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor received the Leader of the Liberal National Party, the Honourable Lawrence Springborg MP, and then following, the Governor received the Leader of the Opposition, the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP and invited her to form government.

Earlier in the morning, Mr Rick and Mrs Patricia Gurnett of Charleville, Mr Martin and Mrs Kerry Lloyd of Blackall, and Mr John and Mrs Katrina Paine of Winton departed Government House.
