On Friday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a reception for St John Ambulance (Queensland) for the investiture and presentation of awards into the Order of St John, where the Governor addressed guests.

In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor received the Honourable Kate Jones MP, Minister for Education and Minister for Tourism, Major Events and the Commonwealth Games, and Mr Damien Walker, Director-General, Department of Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games.

In the evening, at the Playhouse, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended Opera Queensland’s opening night performance of ‘Ruddigore, or the Witch’s Curse’.
