On Saturday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Government House for Official Travel to Townsville City Council.

In the afternoon, at Ardo Hotel, Townsville, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a working lunch with Acting Mayor, Townsville City Council, Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney and Chief Executive Officer, Queensland Reconstruction Authority, Major General Jake Ellwood DSC AM CSC (Retd) and staff.

Following, at SES Hub, Reid Park, Townsville, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations and met with SES workers.

Following, at Townsville City Council, Depot Dalrymple Road, Her Excellency and Professor toured the facility and met with staff.

Following, at Burdekin Shire Council Chambers, Ayr, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing from Mayor, Councillor Pierina Dalle Cort and met with Council staff.

Following, at Ayr, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a tour of Burdekin Shire Council’s flood impacted zones.
