On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM hosted an Investiture Ceremony for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2023 and 2024 Australia Day Honours List;

• Ms Jennifer Ann Cullen AM; Dr Heather Rose Nancarrow AM; Mrs Patricia Neely AM; Professor Donna Lee Pendergast AM;
• Mr Craig Bennett OAM; Mrs Laraine Brennan OAM, Ms Nicole Cleary OAM, Councillor Janet Clifford OAM; Ms Donisha Duff OAM; Mr John Norman Gallimore OAM; Mr Alexander Garlin OAM; Ms Marjorie Ann Gerlinger OAM; Councillor Winston Evans Johnston OAM; Ms Catherine Mundy OAM; Mrs Carmel Patricia Murdoch OAM; Mr Allen Reed OAM; Ms Susan Smith OAM; Mr Jay Turner OAM; The late Reverend Donald Graham Whebell OAM; Ms Jennifer Woodward OAM.

Following, at 1 William Street, Her Excellency presided at a meeting of Executive Council.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Her Excellency received Associate Chaplain, Brisbane Boys College, Mr Thomas McPherson, Senior Chaplain, Mr Stephen Ward, Minister of Religion, The Salvation Army Australia, Major Dale Murray and Captain Darlene Murray and Brisbane Boys’ College students in support of Red Shield Appeal.

In the evening, at Suncorp Stadium, Milton, Her Excellency attended Game I of the Ampol Women’s State of Origin.
