On Friday, in the morning, in Cairns, at the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted an Investiture Ceremony for residents of Far North Queensland, recipients of awards under the Australian Honours and Awards system announced on Australia Day 2014, in the Bravery Honours List on 24 March and 18 August 2014 and 30 March 2015; and on the Queen’s Birthday 2015: Mrs Christiana Jane King SC; Mrs Margaret Ann Black AM; Senior Constable Thomas William Wilson BM; Dr Edward Strivens PSM; Superintendent Russell David Miller APM; Mr Vincent Balanzategui AFSM; Mr Anthony John Hazell AFSM; Mr Ben McKeown AFSM; Mr Daryl Clive Camp ESM; Mrs Janet Mary Corcoran OAM; Mrs Diane Louise Shore OAM (posthumously); Ms Pauline Lesley Woodbridge OAM; Chief Petty Officer Raymond Kenneth Rosendale CSM; Lieutenant Teri-Lee Ross RAN CSM; Group Bravery Citations: Mr Russell James Charleston and Mr Graham John Gourlay; and Group Bravery Citations: Mr Blake Edward Cole; Mr Ashley Maeyke; Senior Constable.

Following, at the Hilton Cairns Hotel, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended lunch hosted by the Mayor of Cairns Regional Council, Councillor Bob Manning OAM and Mrs Claire Manning for a briefing by Far North Queensland business leaders on local industry capability.
In the afternoon, at HMAS Cairns, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey received a briefing on HMAS Cairns operations by Commander Carl Capper RAN, met with Royal Australian Navy personnel and toured Armidale Class Patrol Boat HMAS Wollongong.
Following, at Ports North, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey visited Reef Fleet Terminal at the Cairns Marlin Marina and received a briefing of Ports North operations during a driving tour of their Cairns based operations.
