On Monday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Brisbane for Official Travel to Maranoa Regional Council.
Following, at the LifeFlight Hangar construction site, Roma, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited the site and received a briefing on the building progress.
Following, at the Royal Flying Doctors Service Hangar, Roma, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the hangar and met with crew.
In the afternoon, at the Maranoa Regional Council Chambers, Roma, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a council briefing.
Following, at the Queensland Country Women’s Association, Roma, Her Excellency attended an afternoon tea with the local members. Meanwhile, at the Roma Men’s Shed, Professor Nimmo attended an afternoon tea with the local members.
Following at The Royal on 99, Roma, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a Reception in support of the Roma Community and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, at The Royal on 99, Her Excellency participated in the media interview with Maranoa Today journalist Ms Alayna Fong.
Following, at The Explorers Inn, Roma, Her Excellency participated in a media interview via teleconference with ABC Southern Queensland journalist Ms Belinda Sanders.
In the evening, at The Big Rig, Roma, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the Big Rig Night show and visited the viewing tower.
