In the morning, at Tewantin, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC visited the Chambers of the Noosa Shire Council where the Governor received a briefing from the Deputy Mayor and CEO.
Following, at Noosa Heads, the Governor, as Patron of Surf Life Saving Queensland, and Mrs de Jersey visited the Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club where the Governor met with staff, participants and parents involved in the award winning ‘Seahorse Nippers’ program.
Afterwards, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey visited the Noosa Visitor Information Centre where the Governor met with staff and volunteers of the centre, before presenting a number of certificates recognising the contribution of long-serving volunteers and the volunteer co-ordinator.
Then, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey were hosted at lunch by the Board of Tourism Noosa, where the Governor was provided a briefing on current initiatives and programs aimed at supporting the tourism industry in the Noosa region.
In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey returned to Brisbane.
