On Monday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM departed Government House for Official Travel to Gold Coast City Council.
Following, at The Red Cross Facility, Southport, Her Excellency officially opened the new Red Cross facility, and the Governor addressed guests, unveiled a plaque and presented awards.
In the afternoon, at Gold Coast University Hospital, Southport, Her Excellency received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff and patients.
Following, Her Excellency returned to Government House from official travel to Gold Coast City Council.
Following, at Government House, Her Excellency received the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Honourable Curtis Pitt MP, Acting Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Michael Ries and Sergeant-at-Arms, Mr Michael Watkin for the presentation of one Appropriation Bill and three Bills for Assent. A bill for an Act authorising the Treasurer to pay amounts from the consolidated fund for particular departments for the financial year starting 1 July 2022; A bill for an Act to amend the Bail Act 1980, the Criminal Code, the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012, the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Regulation 2023, the Evidence Act 1977, the Evidence Regulation 2017, the Justices Act 1886, the Penalties and Sentences Act 1992, the Recording of Evidence Regulation 2018, the Security Providers Act 1993, the Youth Justice Act 1992 and the legislation mentioned in schedule 1 for particular purposes, and to repeal the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act 1978; A bill for an Act to amend the Appeal Costs Fund Act 1973, the Criminal Code Act 1899 and the Criminal Code for particular purposes; A bill for an Act to amend the Criminal Code, the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011, the Mental Health Act 2016, the Public Health Act 2005, the Termination of Pregnancy Act 2018 and the legislation mentioned in schedule 1 for particular purposes.
