On Wednesday, in the morning, at Bomana War Cemetery, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey laid a wreath in memory of the distinguished service of men and women, including Queenslanders, buried at the Cemetery who fought during World War II.
Following, at Owens Corner, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey greeted tour group participants, including Queenslanders, embarking upon and returning from treks on the Kokoda Track.
In the afternoon, at National Football Stadium, Port Moresby, the Governor toured facilities and received a briefing on operations from representatives from the National Rugby League and Populous, a Queensland company redeveloping the Stadium.
In the evening, at Airways Hotel, Port Moresby, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended dinner hosted by the Australian High Commission.
