On Thursday, in the morning, Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Brisbane for official travel to Longreach Regional Council and Winton Shire Council.
Following, at Government House, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM welcomed the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier of Queensland and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, who presented her proposed appointments as:
Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services and Minister for Women;
Minister for Transport and Main Roads and Minister for Digital Services;
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence;
Minister for Treaty and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Minister for Communities and Minister for the Arts;
Minister for Housing;
Minister for Employment and Small Business, Minister for Training and Skills Development and Minister for Youth Justice;
Minister for Child Safety and Minister for Seniors and Disability Services;
Minister for the Environment and the Great Barrier Reef, Minister for Science and Minister for Multicultural Affairs.
Her Excellency officiated at a formal ceremony for the swearing-in of the Ministers of the State and presided at a special meeting of the Executive Council.
In the afternoon, Her Excellency departed Brisbane for official travel to Longreach Regional Council and Winton Shire Council.
In the evening, at the Eric Lenton Recreation Park, Winton, Professor Nimmo, as joint Patron of Opera Queensland, attended the Festival of Outback Opera, and Professor Nimmo addressed guests.
