On Thursday, in the afternoon, at Parliament House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
Following, at Parliament House, His Excellency greeted students from Mt Maria College visiting for a guided tour of the Parliament.
Following, at the State Library of Queensland, South Bank, His Excellency and the Mayor of Palm Island, Councillor Alfred Lacey, toured the Palm Island and Our People exhibition.
In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a dinner in support of regional Queensland. Guests included: Mayor of Palm Island, Councillor Alfred Lacey; Mayor of Etheridge, Councillor Warren Devlin and Ms Lydia Wilde; Mayor of Gladstone, Councillor Matt Burnett; Mayor of Cloncurry, Councillor Greg Campbell and Mrs Ana Campbell; Mayor of Maranoa, Councillor Tyson Golder and Mrs Natalie Golder; Chair of the Weipa Town Authority, Mr Michael Rowland and Mrs Yvonne Rowland; Electoral Commissioner of Queensland, Mr Patrick Vidgen PSM and Dr Helen Vidgen; Queensland Auditor-General, Mr Brendan Worrall and Mrs Marie-Louise Worrall; Interim Administrator of Ipswich City Council, Mr Greg Chemello and Mrs Dianna Chemello; Deputy Director-General of the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Mr Allen Cunneen OAM and Mrs Diane Cunneen; and Deputy Official Secretary of the Office of the Governor, Mrs Kate Hastings and Mr Bob Hastings.
