On Wednesday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD departed Weipa Town Authority for Official Travel to Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council.
Following, at Government House, members of Alzheimer’s Queensland visited for a guided tour of the House and gardens.
Following, at Lockhart River Police Station, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited the facility and meet the officers on duty.
Following, at Lockhart River Primary Health Care Centre, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the facility and met with hospital staff and staff from the Royal Flying Doctors Service and received a briefing on the operations.
In the afternoon, at Lockhart River State School, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the school, read a book, and the Governor unveiled a plaque to open the building and addressed students and teachers.
Following, at Lockhart River Social Club, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a Community Lunch, and the Governor addressed guests.
In the afternoon, at Government House, members of the public visited for a guided tour of the House and gardens.
Following, at Quintell Beach, Lockhart River, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo viewed the granite boulder formations.
Following, Her Excellency departed Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council for Official Travel to Cairns Regional Council.
Following, at Lockhart River Arts, Professor Nimmo toured the showroom and met with staff.
