On Friday, in the morning, at the Ville Resort - Casino, Townsville, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC hosted North Queensland Investiture Ceremonies for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, the August 2020 Bravery Announcement and the 2021 Australia Day Honours List: Warrant Officer Class One Tony Lionel Kennedy OAM; Mr Gene Morgan Curtis ASM; Warrant Officer Shane William Grist OAM; Mr Glen Aaron Hardy; the late Mr Ernest John Maltby OAM (received by Mr Nicholas Tatnell); and Emeritus Professor Helene Denise Marsh AO.

In the afternoon, His Excellency returned to Government House following official travel to Cairns and Townsville.
