On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey welcomed the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, the Premier of Queensland, who presented to the Governor her proposed appointments as Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing and Minister for Water, and Assistant Minister for Tourism Industry Development. The Governor officiated at a formal ceremony for the swearing-in of one Minister of the State and member of the Executive Council of Queensland; presided at a special meeting of the Executive Council; and officiated at a formal ceremony for the appointment of one Assistant Minister. 

In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted a dinner in support of Queensland’s Primary Producers and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: the Honourable Mark Furner MP; Mr Dan O’Connor OAM; Mr David Cox and Mrs Tania Cox; Mr Brent Finlay and Ms Jane Paterson; Mr Ross Hopper and Mrs Sally Hopper; Mr Craig Pressler and Mrs Bindi Pressler; Mrs Heidi Walker and Mr Pavo Walker; and Mrs Kate Hastings and Mr Bob Hastings APM.
