On Wednesday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young PSM departed Government House for official travel to Ipswich.
Following, at Church Street, Goodna, Her Excellency received a briefing from Deputy Mayor, Ipswich City Council, Cr Nicole Jonic and toured the surrounding impacted area.
Following, at Laurels Place, Goodna, Her Excellency, accompanied by Cr Jonic, toured the facility and met with volunteers and guests.
Following, at Goodna Neighbourhood House, Her Excellency, accompanied by Cr Jonic and Councillor, Ipswich City Council, Cr Paul Tully, toured the facility and met with volunteers and guests.
Following, at Mill Street, Goodna, Her Excellency, accompanied by Cr Jonic and Cr Tully, viewed the flood impacted area and met with flood affected business owners and residents.
Following, at St Ives Shopping Centre, Goodna, Her Excellency, accompanied by Assistant Minister for Hydrogen Development and the 50% Renewable Energy Target by 2030, Mr Lance McCallum MP, Cr Jonic and Cr Tully, met with local residents, visited the Goodna Street Life Op Shop and met with volunteers.
Following, at St Ives Bakery, Goodna, Her Excellency met with local business owners and residents.
In the afternoon, at Ipswich City Council, Ipswich, Her Excellency visited the Local Command Centre and received a briefing from Mayor, Ipswich City Council, Cr Teresa Harding, local authorities and Council representatives.
Following, at Ipswich Showgrounds, Her Excellency visited the evacuation centre and met with volunteers and flood affected residents.
Following, Her Excellency returned to Government House following official travel to Ipswich.
