On Thursday, in the afternoon, at Parliament House, Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Following at Government House, His Excellency received the Commanding Officer HMAS Moreton, Commander Gerald Savvakis RAN ADC for a promotion ceremony for Lieutenant Commander Nicholas Robinson.

In the evening, at the Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a dinner in recognition of Outstanding Queensland Contributors who support drought affected Queenslanders, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: Major General Jake Ellwood DSC AM and Mrs Nicole Ellwood; Mr Mark O’Brien AM and Ms Kim Muldoon; Mr Vaughan Johnson OAM; Mrs Tracy Alder and Mr Charles Alder; Mr John Corbett and Mrs Marita Corbett; Mrs Jenny Gailey and Mr Pete Gailey; Mrs Natasha Johnston and Mr Steele Johnston; Mr Brett McCracken; Mr Elton Miller and Dr Maeve Canning; Mr Robert Newey and Mrs Sue Newey; and Air Commodore Mark Gower AM LVO OAM (Mil) and Mrs Julie Gower.
