On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC received Australian Electoral Officer and State Manager Queensland and Northern Territory, Australian Electoral Commission, Mr Thomas Ryan, for the return of the 2019 Queensland Senate Election Writ.
Following, at Government House, His Excellency greeted members of Redcliffe View Club visiting for morning tea and a guided tour of the House and gardens.
Following, at 1 William Street, His Excellency presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted an Australian Citizenship Ceremony, and the Governor officiated and addressed guests.
Following, at South Brisbane, His Excellency officially opened the Emotional Health Unit at the Mater Young Adult Health Centre, and the Governor unveiled a plaque and addressed guests.
In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted a dinner in honour of former Lord Mayor Mr Graham Quirk and Mrs Anne Quirk, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: Mr Graham Quirk and Mrs Anne Quirk; Miss Charlotte Quirk; Mrs Elizabeth Saliba and Mr Tony Saliba; Brigadier Cris Anstey CSC; Mr Greg Bowden and Ms Leanne Neumann; Mr Scott Collins and Mrs Julia Collins; Mr John Cowie and Mrs Carrie Liang; Mr Kenneth Freer and Mrs Edel Melia; Mr Nick Kennedy and Mrs Joanne Kennedy; Mrs Kim Knox and Mr David Knox; and Air Commodore Mark Gower AM LVO OAM (Mil) and Mrs Julie Gower.
