On Saturday, in the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC ceased duty as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia and resumed duty as Governor of Queensland, and the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes ceased duty as Acting Governor of Queensland.

In the evening, at Brisbane City Hall, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the National Trust Gala Dinner where His Excellency addressed guests and presented a 2016 National Trust Queensland Heritage Award.
